Taylor decided to make a variant of their best-selling USA-made guitar (314ce), and make some aesthetic and technical tweaks to deliver a slightly alternative experience of their classic design.
A solid Mahogany top delivers a slightly warmer and moderated tone than the spritely spruce of the 314, and the warm hues of the shaded edgeburst top deliver a complemetnary aesthetic to this tone. Tasmanian Blackwood on the back and sides maintain the volume and focus in the midrange, and the black machineheads and a satin finish complete the look.
